50 Cent rips well-known New York DJ and radio personality DJ Clue while explaining DJs importance in today’s hip-hop with Gillie Da Kid and Wallo on the Million Dollarz Worth of Game podcast.

The 49-year-old film and television mogul mentions Clue, 49, as the only DJ he’s ever had an issue with when asked by Wallo about managers, influencers, and DJs. “I’ve never had an argument with a DJ – outside of DJ Clue because he’s a B*tch A** N***a, right – he just did some sh*t that made me look at him like that made me look at him like that n***a a b*tch. But outside of that I’ve never had an issue with a DJ, period, right. And it’s because I need them.”

Wallo would ask 50 Cent how much DJs still mattered and the mogul replied: “They still matter. The young demo don’t give a f*ck what you talking about when we talking about DJs because their streaming is going to happen before the DJs play the record. When you do play it, I’m already hot n***a. You playing it because I got an audience… They (DJs) still important because it (records) doesn’t make it to the mainstream if they don’t touch it.”

After calling out Clue, 50 would mention him again in the interview as someone he took a meeting with before signing with Eminem’s Shady Records in 2002.

“I met with everybody,” said 50 before mentioning Clue and his Desert Storm record label. “I met with Clue, Desert Storm, and all of them. It was because I wanted them to say they were doing a deal with me. First thing they do when they came in – Skane came in with them – He said, ‘Yo we talked to the wolves, they said it was okay to talk to you. You think I’d do a deal with a n***a that’s gotta ask somebody if it’s okay to talk to me?”

In 2020, 50’s beef with DJ Clue broke out after the DJ allegedly refused to play music by late-rap star Pop Smoke. At the time, the mogul posted a photo of the DJ, explicitly captioned:

“This fool @djclue got in his feelings, and said he not playing POP Smoke new joint because he didn’t get the record first. “FUCK YOU CLUE, you don’t mean shit! @funkflex been kicking your ass up and down the street for years you little retard. I done sold 30 million records you think i give a fuck if you play my music is you stupid, is you dumb nigga?” 50 added. “I think you should get punched in the face, i don’t know why, but I’m almost sure you gone get punched in the face. Nothing crazy just a lowercase L You know the vibes n***a.”

Throughout the late 90s DJ Clue gained popularity with his The Professional album series. In 1999, Clue was appointed the DJ of the Hard Knock Life Tour featuring Jay-Z, DMX, and Method Man & Redman. DJ Clue was a DJ at Hot 97 from 1998 to 2006.

He founded Desert Storm in 1998 and introduced the world to rap star Fabolous. DJ Clue would appear as himself in 2005’s Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories video game.

DJ Clue has not responded to 50 Cent’s comments at this time.
