So what has the Toronto rapper done over the years that has caused people feel that he’s just receiving his karma for past behavior?

Let’s start with the obviously: He pissed off the entire West Coast through his mockery of California legends, dangling 2Pac’s ring in Lamar’s face and claiming Lamar doesn’t give back to his community. But the animosity Drizzy is getting is much deeper than even that.

Black face photoshoot

Hip-Hop fans still aren’t over the shocking photo Pusha T revealed in his 2018 beef with the Toronto popstar.

Although Drake attempted to explain the blackface photo away at the time, it didn’t work, as the hip-hop community continued to question why he would do it in the first place, even if it was years before he was a rap star.

Dissing prominent women in his music

For a while, hip-hop fans have noticed Drake has gone out of his way to diss famous women for no particularly reason.

For example, on the 2022 song, “Circo Loco,” he seemingly took shots at Megan Thee Stallion as Tory Lanez was on trial for shooting her

On the song he raps, “This b***h lie about getting shots, but she still a stallion/She don’t even get the joke but she still smiling.”

Also in 2022, he disssed Serena Williams’ husband on the song, “Middle of the Ocean,” saying, “Sidebar, Serena, your husband a groupie/He claim we don’t got a problem but no, boo, it’s like you comin’ for sushi/ We might pop up on ’em at will like Suzuki.”

The next year in 2023, he took aim at musician and singer Esperanza Spalding (of all people), saying on “Away From Home,” “Four GRAMMY’s to my name, a hundred nominations/Esperanza Spalding was gettin’ all the praises/I’m tryna keep it humble, I’m tryna keep it gracious/Who give a fuck Michelle Obama put you on her playlist?”

Obviously everyone’s reason for hating on Drake is different, but these all mount up to the reasons people are using this moment to clown, especially coming off his loss to Kendrick Lamar in the rap beef of the century.
