Godflow Fest is Impacting the Culture in Minnesota with Christian Rap

Godflow Hip Hop & Hope Fest (@godflow_fest) was re-born as a way to heal hopeless hearts from the murder of George Floyd in 2020. The festival presents the Gospel for urban youth in the Twin Cities (St. Paul and Minneapolis), Minnesota. This year on August 17th, attendees from across the nation are coming to enjoy LIVE performances from thirteen national and local Christian hip hop artists: Torey D’Shaun, CJ Emulous, Toya Love, DKG Kie, KHAM, V Squad, Not Kylde, Xay Hill, and Dj Evon—to name a few!

Godflow Fest

Godflow is more than a festival; it serves as the youth outreach extension of The Man Up Club, a 501(c)3 non-profit mentor-leadership organization for young black males. The Man Up Club was founded by Grammy-nominated artist and pioneer of Christian Hip Hop, Korey “XROSS” Dean Sr. (@heyxross), who deployed all of his Man Up Club members to help lead the city-wide march of 15,000 youth in the streets of Minneapolis, where XROSS fervently prayed over the city after a heartfelt speech on the Hennepin Bridge in the summer of 2020.

Godflow Festival will be hosted by Sis N Lil Bro (@wesisnlilbro), the brother-sister hip-hop duo! These siblings are a part of the first family of CHH—as their father is XROSS, who serves as their manager and CEO of the family label 1 Way Entertainment. Their father has released previous independent albums on their oldest brother K-Jay (who started rapping at nine years old in 2003). With 20 years in the industry, the Godflow family has much to be thankful for. “Sis” (A.K.A. Celena Lena (@iamcelenalena)) was called to the mission in 2016, and “Lil Bro” (A.K.A. Tytist (@iamtytist)) started rapping the following year. Sis N Lil Bro are excited to host and perform at Godflow for the second time and plan to incorporate their acting skills into the show, as they were recently featured in BET+ #1 hit TV series: Kingdom Business.

“GodFlow is a great outreach festival that has taken strides to connect to the community through music and opportunities. We are pleased to partner with their label 1 Way Entertainment to distribute their artists.”

In addition to giving the CHH movement national recognition, the festival is known for hosting special guest celebrities who come to share their experiences and faith in Christ. Previous Godflow guests include Cedric the Entertainer, Tip “T.I.” Harris, and Angela “Blac Chyna” White who inspired both saved and unsaved youth of hip-hop culture. Other previous guests include DJ Mal-Ski, 1K Phew, Aha Gazelle, Hulvey, Dee-1, Emmanuel (formerly known as Da Truth), Angie Rose, Canton Jones, Mike Teezy, Thi’sl, Clifford Gray, Porsha Love, Mission, Range the Artist, George Rose, and Young C to name a few!

As the promoter of Godflow Fest, The Man Up Club just opened its very own clubhouse in downtown Minneapolis to provide opportunities for mentorship, tutoring, music production, culinary arts, construction, and physical health and fitness to the youth in the community. The Clubhouse will be transformed to host this year’s Godflow Festival. The address is 1018 N 5th St. Minneapolis, MN 55411.
