In a recent interview, Collins opened up about the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime show in February 2025. He became an executive producer of the live event in 2021, joining Jay-Z and his Roc Nation team behind the helm.

While many expected Lil Wayne to headline the show, which would take place in his native city of New Orleans, Collins noted Lamar was the right choice. He stressed that the decision wasn’t biased, saying:

“We love Wayne. There’s always Vegas odds on who’s going to get to perform it. But I think we’re going to do an amazing show with Kendrick, and I think everybody’s going to love the halftime show.”

“I know Kendrick is going to work exceptionally hard to deliver an amazing show,” Collins told Variety before sharing more about the person who made the final decision.

“It’s a decision that Jay makes. Since we’ve been on board with that show, he’s made it every year, and it’s been amazing. He’s always picked right!”

Additionally, Collins revealed that the preparations for the upcoming halftime show were underway. He noted his team would fly out to New Orleans on Tuesday to meet with Lamar’s reps.

“It’s our first time with the artist team. We’ve actually been a few times already in preparation, but since the announcement, it’s the first time Kendrick’s team and us will all come together,” Collins shared.
