Grandmaster Caz, Roxanne Shante and Kool Moe Dee are being honored at the 2024 Hip Hop Grandmaster Awards for their cultural contributions and lasting influence on the genre of rap.
The 2nd annual Hip Hop Grandmaster Awards will take place on Saturday (Oct. 5) at the ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, NV and will culminate in three of Hip-Hop’s greatest emcees of the golden era receiving their flowers.
Hosted by actor Terry Crews, this year’s gala will include a mix of appearances and performances from Hip-Hop luminaries Nas, Fab 5 Freddy, Doug E. Fresh, DJ Jazzy Jeff and more.

This year’s Hip Hop Grandmaster honorees were selected by an advisory board comprised of esteemed contributors including Nas and Fab 5 Freddy, as well as Video Music Box curator Ralph McDaniels, and manager and executive Anthony Saleh.
The Hip Hop Grandmaster Awards is presented by The Paid in Full Foundation (PIFF), a non-profit charitable organization founded by Benjamin and Felicia Horowitz in 2022 and headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Paid In Full Foundation’s focus is dedicated to acknowledging “transformational artists who have made a significant cultural impact and empower them to fulfill their continued creative and artistic endeavors.”

The inuagural Hip Hop Grandmaster Awards took place last year in Las Vegas and saw iconic rap lyricists Rakim and Scarface, who will be in attendance at this year’s event, being honored for their respective careers and legacy. Both artists were awarded $500,000 apiece as a show of gratitude by the Paid In Full Foundation.
