Rick Ross knew the perfect way to pay homage to Big Meech after the high-profile kingpin was released from federal prison.

On Wednesday, October 16, Rozay took to his Instagram Stories to celebrate the news about Meech. After he reposted a screenshot of TMZ’s story, the Miami rapper sent a special message to Meech in a video he shot from inside his Promise Land ranch in Georgia. “The streets are back,” Ross said into the camera. “Meech home! Meech welcome back. Salute my n***a.” Later on, he posted another video of himself performing his 2010 classic “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast)” on stage.

According to TMZ, Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory was transferred from the FCI Coleman Low in Wildwood to a halfway house in Miami on Tuesday, October 15, where he’ll serve out the rest of his sentence. After he got his sentence reduced by at least 10 years, the co-founder of the infamous Black Mafia Family is expected to be released on January 27, 2026. However, he’ll be on supervised release for at least five years where he’ll have to complete a substance abuse program. He’ll also be barred from all drugs and alcohol, which means he could be subjected to drug testing.

Big Meech was arrested in 2005 on numerous drug trafficking and money laundering charges after he and his brother Terry Flenory reportedly ran the largest drug ring in Detroit history. Their scheme began in the 1990s and expanded to cities in 11 states before it was shut down by the feds in 2005. Meech was convicted to 30 years behind bars in 2008. Since his incarceration, 50 Cent has helped keep his legacy alive by turning his story into the hit drama series “BMF” starring Flenory’s son Lil Meech. Artists like Snoop Dogg, Yung Miami, Lil Baby and Eminem have guest starred on the show.
