After saying that “Don’t be Dumb” would be released sometime in Autumn of this year, it seems that A$AP Rocky has delayed his upcoming album yet again. This news comes after it was revealed that pre-orders of the album’s vinyl had been cancelled, raising speculations that the Harlem rapper has, yet again, lied to all of us.
These cancellations also come after the album was already delayed before, as it was slated for an August 30th drop as part of his “AWGEST” celebration with his record label and creative agency. His explanation for its initial delay, posted on X, was, “LEAKS & SAMPLE CLEARANCES ARE DISRUPTING THE ALBUM. IT’S BEEN 6 YEARS & I WANNA MAKE THE BEST ALBUM EVER. I’M SORRY FOR THE WAIT.”
Fans have been left extremely disappointed, with a Reddit user adding a “Liar” banner to an image of his along with a declaration on behalf of the subreddit – r/asaprocky – and its resistance towards his lies. Many users also feel hard done by as they were blamed for the leaks despite them just trying to share new information on any new A$AP music – with many saying it was Rocky’s team’s fault for the leaks and not them.
Having announced the album back in late 2022, not only have we been waiting for 2 years but it’s been 6 years since we last got an A$AP album. At least we have singles like “Ruby Rosary” and “Tailor Swif” to keep us entertained.
Stay tuned for more on the album’s release that’s hopefully coming soon.
