Local law firm invites graffiti artist to come back and paint mural instead

TULSA, Okla. — Local law firm Frasier, Frasier and Hickman are looking for the graffiti artist who spray painted a wall behind their building so they can invite them back to paint a mural instead.

It’s hard to miss the graffiti that now spans the wall behind Frasier Law Firm near 17th and South Boulevard which is signed by the artist themselves.

“It appeared overnight and I could not make hide nor hair of the signature, then a younger person in my office said, ‘oh, it’s Mango.'” said Frank Frasier, partner at Frasier, Frasier and Hickman.

While the graffiti isn’t exactly the aesthetic Frasier had in mind, he has a win-win proposal for both his firm and Mango.

“I want to help Mango help me.”

Since the graffiti will eventually be painted over, Frasier thought why not find Mango and commission them to paint a mural that does fit the area’s aesthetic?

“So, I didn’t know what to do other than to go to social media and say, ‘Mango help.”

A teacher from Eugene Field Elementary reminded Frasier of the Route 66 Centennial Grants an artist of a potential mural would be able to receive if they were commissioned to create art in the area.

“There are some funds for the beautification of Route 66—which is right out here outside my window—from a grand to up to maybe $25,000 for Mango to come do something aesthetic in the neighborhood in cooperation with myself, near businesses and maybe the University.”

Frasier said this idea would allow Mango to show their abilities and get some money while the community gets new, engaging art.

“I am an optimist truthfully, and I could see it as a negative. I could go shop for spray paint and do that myself or I can try to make bloom where I am planted, as my mother would say. If I can help Mango and this community, why not try?”

Frasier shared that people have called and emailed him with tips as he tries to find the artist. He’s insisted he isn’t looking to get anyone in trouble or expose their identity.

“If I need to be his lawyer to make that happen, we can work that out. He can retain me on a handshake.”

If you know anything about how Frank can contact Mango, feel free to reach out to 918-584-4724 or email the firm at info@frasierlaw.com.
