50 Cent Slams Over-Sexualized Trend in Female Rap: “This Might Be Damaging Female Culture” [Video]

50 Cent is no stranger to speaking his mind.

Recently, on the Hot 97.5’s Mike P Podcast, he took aim at the current wave of female rappers, saying they’re becoming too one-dimensional with their overly sexual content.

“I just want somebody to break [through] that is not trying to sell some box,” he said, adding, “Just need one!”

50 expressed concern for the young girls who look up to certain artists like Latto, Sexyy Red and Megan Thee Stallion, suggesting their music might be doing more harm than good.

“I think this might be damaging female culture,” he continued. “Seriously.”

Though 50’s no stranger to sex talk in his tracks, like “Candy Shop,” he pointed out that today’s lyrics are on a whole different level. “I was doing ‘Candy Shop’ and ‘Magic Stick,’ like metaphors for sexual experiences. They are flat-out saying the experience in the music now,” he explained.

And it’s not just the ladies catching heat. 50’s coming for the men too, making it clear he’s got plenty to say about the whole industry.
