A Mural Movement’s Prairie Thunder is a finalist in an international competition for street art.

In a “Best Of” awards by Street Art Cities, Prairie Thunder is just one of three U.S. murals to make the final round of voting, along with three international murals.

The competition features more than 66,000 pieces of art worldwide. That includes 107 countries and their 1,800 cities.

This is the eighth annual competition by Street Art Cities.

Initially, the mural was voted as a top-50 mural of 2024, before advancing to the final round.

Prairie Thunder was completed in 2024 by artist Christian Stanley. It features 3,200 square feet of art along a grain bin on Grant Avenue. It faces another 2024 AMM mural, How Great Thou Art by Tracy Lebo.

Stanley also painted the large Sunflower State of Mind mural on Court Street.

The mural joins pieces from Knoxville, TN and New York City in the final round.
