Meet these three women who are taking Cleveland’s nightlife by storm. By Jala Forest

The world of DJing has been perceived as a male-dominated industry. But there are plenty of women bringing a different face to Cleveland’s DJ scene. In honor of International Women’s Day, here are three Northeast Ohio-based DJs to know.

Brittany Benton, also known as DJ Red-I, is a DJ and producer from Cleveland who’s known for her mixing hip-hop, house and Afro-Caribbean music together. In 2018, Benton opened her own independent record store called Brittany’s Record Shop, selling vinyl records that focused on hip hop, reggae, soul and jazz. Benton is also the founder of Beat Freak, a monthly showcase of beats made by Cleveland producers, and a curator of FreshFest,  a celebration of arts and urban agriculture in Cleveland. djred-i.com
