Quando Rondo, who turned himself in earlier this year after pleading guilty to drug conspiracy charges, now has a scheduled release date. According to No Jumper, the rapper will be released from prison on May 29, 2027. While release dates can sometimes change, fans are relieved to have a timeline for his return.
The rapper’s legal troubles culminated in December 2023 when he pleaded guilty to federal drug conspiracy charges. He was sentenced to 33 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release and a $40,000 fine. While he still has years left to serve, his current sentence is significantly lighter than the 20-year maximum he initially faced.
Upon his release, Quando Rondo will be required to adhere to strict conditions, including regular drug testing, avoiding contact with gang members, and undergoing mental health treatment, per WJCL 22 News. Despite the circumstances, he has expressed a desire to use his time in prison as an opportunity for self-improvement.
“As crazy as it sounds, that’s enough time to really sit down, rehabilitate myself, and come up with better plans for my family and friends,” he stated.
However, this may mean a hiatus from music. Following his sentencing, Quando hinted at stepping away from the industry, posting on Instagram:
“If I promised anybody something, they’re going to get it. My word is my word! But on everything I love, once I do this lil’ time, I promise you I’m disappearing and never talking to people again!”
Whether this signals an actual retirement remains to be seen, but fans will have to wait until 2027 to see what’s next for Quando Rondo.
