One of the two men convicted in the killing of Run-DMC DJ Jam Master Jay was hospitalized after being stabbed multiple times during a prison gang fight.
The fight took place just after 1 p.m. Saturday at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, according to NBC News and Vibe.
Karl “Little D” Jordan was stabbed 18 times during the fight between two rival gangs, the Bloods and the Trinitarios. He was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
A spokesman for the federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed to NBC News that there was a fight at the jail involving a number of inmates.
The detention center, which also currently houses rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, has a reputation for being a violent place.
Jordan has been incarcerated there since September 2020, when he and Ronald “Tinard” Washington were charged in the death of Jason Mizell, aka Jam Master Jay, who was shot in his recording studio in 2002.
