Committed to launching new and fresh initiatives, Benalmadena is establishing itself as a multicultural hub and an inspiration to young, upcoming talent.
After hosting the hugely popular joint exhibition ‘Médula‘ in 2024 with Lalone and Nesui, this March, another artist from the Malaga street art scene is on show, once again conquering the walls of the Exhibition Centre, having just opened the exhibition ‘Reencuentros – Hide Two’ in the Terral Hall. The exhibition will remain open to the public until April.
Malaga-born Héctor Sócrates Hurtado, known by his tag as Hide-Two, began his graffiti career in 2001, inspired by hip-hop culture, film, music, and traditional and contemporary painting. Over the years, he has established himself as a unique figure in his scene, distinguished by his artistic evolution and technical virtuosity in all branches of wall art.
At the Benalmadena exhibition, visitors will be able to enjoy a journey through Hide Two’s artistic creations, reflecting his more academic side and his ability to merge figurative painting with the stylistic diversity of literature.
The exhibition comprises works painted on the walls of the Terral Gallery, as well as canvases, sculptures, and even modified toys. Hide-Two is an artist who challenges established stereotypes, reinterpreting his influences from a unique perspective. Known for his mastery with spray paint, his work has left its mark on walls throughout Spain, as well as in countries such as the UK, Belgium, and the United States. In 2023, his talent was recognised when he won first place in the National Graffiti League, both in the general classification and in the lettering category.
This exhibition, curated by Ventura Díaz, is a unique opportunity to explore the multiple facets of this Malaga-born artist’s artistic identity and, above all, to learn about who he is today: a creator with spirit, with soul, with vast knowledge, and a broad cultural vision. In short, a tireless campaigner for the recognition of graffiti as a legitimate form of artistic expression.
The exhibition is free to visit at the Benalmadena Centro de Exposiciones on Avenida. Antonio Machado, 33, from Wednesday to Saturday, 9.30am to 1.30pm, and 6pm to 8pm, and on Sunday mornings from 10am to 2pm.
