Young Thug‘s days of freedom could potentially be cut short.
The rap star, who was released from prison in October 2024 after striking a plea deal in the YSL RICO case, is in jeopardy of having his probation revoked due to alleged witness intimidation.
According to a motion filed in Fulton County on Wednesday (April 2), Thug, born Jeffrey Williams, is accused of participating in “escalating threats” against Fulton County Investigator Marissa Viverito, a witness in an ongoing “multi-defendant gang murder preliminary hearing.”

On Tuesday (April 1), Thug is alleged to have reposted an image of Viverito, which has since been deleted, accompanied with a caption calling her “the biggest liar in the DA’s office,” on his social media account.
Being that witnesses in the aforementioned preliminary hearing cannot have their faces shown on television, Thug’s participation in the proliferation of Viverito’s photo “presents a clear and present danger to public safety and undermines the rule of law.”
The filing claims the hitmaker’s repost of the image quickly went “viral,” accumulating over two million views and allegedly lead to “direct threats” against Viverito and her family.

The home addresses of Viverito and her family was also leaked online, with one social media user posting a photo of the Investigator’s mother’s home and seemingly urging those with “hate” for Viverito to show up to the property.
The State of Georgia has requested the revocation of Thug’s probation, which would land the 33-year-old back behind bars.
“The escalation from targeting a testifying witness to making a direct death threat against the elected District Attorney of Fulton County is a grave and unprecedented attack on the justice system,” the motion to revoke the rapper’s probation stated.

The filing alleges that Thug resharing the post was a “calculated campaign of intimidation, harassment, and misinformation designed to undermine the legal process.”
The state has also asked that the Court take “swift and decisive action by revoking the Defendant’s probation and remanding them into custody without delay.”
In response to the motion, Thug released a statement on his social media account refuting the notion that his intention was to “threaten” Viverito, as he claims that behavior is not in his nature.

“I don’t make treats to people I’m a good person, I would never condone anyone threatening anyone or definitely participate in threatening anyone,” the Atlanta native wrote on X. “I’m all about peace and love.”
As part of his plea deal, Thugger received a total of forty years in prison, including five years behind bars, ultimately commuted to time served. The remaining 15 years are to be served on probation with a conditional “backloaded” 20-year sentence.
