Launching this week (this Friday *early access) Remi Rough and Soi Books are releasing a collectible that aims to blur the line between book and artwork – Remi Rough B-Sides & Outtakes Collector’s Edition
Just 50 copies will exist, and each one features a hand-painted cover by Remi himself. These aren’t printed designs — they’re pieces of original canvas, painted in his studio, then individually cut and turned into book covers. Each one is different. Each one is an original.

Inside, the content has been carefully curated by Soi Books. The book includes archival photography tracing Remi’s journey from 1980s South London to the present day, along with never-before-seen images from his personal archive. It’s an intimate look at the evolution of a career that has moved between graffiti, abstract painting and contemporary art.
The book also features a foreword by actor and writer Nick Frost and quotes from renowned artists such as CRASH and Stormie Mills, offering thoughtful insight into Remi’s influence and process.
Each copy is presented in a custom-designed box and comes with a certificate of authenticity, numbered and signed by the artist. It is, in every sense, a collectible — but more than that, it’s a reflection of what can happen when publishing becomes personal.
This project is about care and intention. About making something that couldn’t — and shouldn’t — exist at scale. It’s not just a book. It’s fifty individual artworks in book form.

About the artist
Remi Rough is a British artist whose creative journey began on the streets of 1980s England as a graffiti writer. Over time, his work transitioned from urban walls to gallery spaces, evolving into a distinctive abstract style characterized by bold colors, geometric forms, and sharp lines.
His artwork has been showcased internationally, with exhibitions in cities such as London, Paris, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Perth, and Hong Kong. One of his notable public art contributions is a mural in southeast London’s Dulwich Outdoor Gallery. Titled Girl at a Window, the piece reinterprets a Rembrandt painting housed in the nearby Dulwich Picture Gallery.
In 2008, Rough was invited to speak at Tate Modern as part of its Street Art exhibition. The following year, he published his book Lost Colours and Alibis, offering insight into his artistic philosophy and process.
Rough has also collaborated with fellow artist Jason System under the names “Remi Rough and System” or “Remi/Rough and System.” Beyond visual art, he expresses his creativity through music, producing solo projects as well as forming one half of the experimental duo Dead Can Rap with Mike Ladd.
