“Hip-HopFusion: Repertoire” is an immersive comic art exhibition by Ottawa artist Andy Akangah celebrating the icons of hip-hop culture, past and present through innovative mixed media.
Following a sold-out attendance in Ottawa with widespread acclaim from CBC and CTV, this expanded exhibition arrives at the Combine, a hub for creatives in downtown Toronto, for a one-month showcase.
Join us for the official launch party on Friday, June 6th and experience the past and present of hip hop reimagined. In addition to lenticular prints and limited edition artwork, Andy will once again collaborate with Ottawa paper artist Florencia Alba and Montreal projection mapping artist Michaela van Beinum, transforming his 2D comics into stunning, larger-than-life 3D installations. Drinks and light snacks provided.
In addition to the launch, Andy will also be hosting digital comic book illustration workshops on June 17th, for beginner and intermediate levels.
