Brisbane Street Art Festival workshops
May 17–18
As part of Brisbane Street Art Festival, Superordinary at Northshore Brisbane will host a vibrant weekend of workshops from May 17–18, inviting creatives of all levels to get hands-on. Explore surreal composition in the Collage Workshop by The Collage Collective, and learn the art of urban lettering at the Graffiti Lettering Workshop where you’ll create a marker-based graffiti-style masterpiece. Delve into image making and manipulation at the Slap Up Sticker Art Workshop, sharpen your spray-can skills at the Aerosol Masterclass and explore the world of realism and brushwork at Brushwork Through Still Life. Got the kids in tow? Budding artists can create colourful mini murals at Colour by Numbers for Kids. Materials are supplied for each workshop – just bring your curiosity! Brisbane Street Art Festival artists in action
May 15–18
Superordinary and the Northshore Brisbane precinct is getting a serious glow-up thanks to three powerhouse artists painting live as part of Brisbane Street Art Festival. Catch Brisbane-born Sofles in action as he unleashes his high-energy, world-renowned style across a massive mural. Abstract artist Simon Degroot adds his signature layers of colour and form, while Fintan Magee brings bold realism and social commentary to the walls. SOLSTICE
Saturday June 21
This winter solstice, Superordinary will transform into a supernatural realm for one unmissable night of ritual, art and live performance. SOLSTICE, presented by CONVERGE and hosted by Mayatu Nova, features an immersive exhibition from more than 55 local artists, a never-before-seen ritualistic movement performance with a live-music ensemble, as well as entertainment from local bands SCRAPS, APO//O and Hostile Architect. Dive deeper with tarot readings, flash tattoos by Simple Studio, a moody mini cinema and immersive installations. With food trucks, a licensed bar and a darkly enchanted dress code (think witchy, gothic and supernatural), this adults-only event promises a celebration of the mystical, the magical and the fiercely creative.
