In early October, Saint-Maur goes street art! The town in the 94 region is hosting L’Usine fait le mur, an event taking place on an unprecedented site! A former disused factory will, for an entire weekend, be the stage for creative performances by some two dozen street artists!
Street art to breathe new life into a disused site
Permission to tag! Saint-Maur-des-Fossés in collaboration with Urban Signature, an agency specializing in street art (and which works with Le Cyklop, Jo Di Bona or Jérôme Mesnager, among others) opens, to a handful of urban-artists, the doors to one of its industrial sites now unused!
It’s in the singular setting of a former waterworks, soon to undergo rehabilitation work, that some twenty street artists are invited to realize works! On October 5 and 6, they’ll have the site’s walls as their blank canvas, and the public will be able to watch each of their works being created, step by step!
Street artists take to the walls
Ever wanted to witness the realization of a street art work from A to Z? Don’t miss these two days that will plunge you into the heart of the fascinating art factory! Several of the biggest names on this vibrant scene have agreed to play along. They’ll be vying with each other in talent and creativity to transform and magnify the walls of this former factory over the course of a weekend!
As you stroll around the site, you may come across a striking face signed Hopare, the maze-like works of Kelkin or the pattern-filled animals of Ami Imaginaire. Also count on Jo Di Bona, David Baranes, Tegmo and many other artists to show you their artistic process and redecorate the building!
In between brush strokes and spray can spritzes, the street artists will also be available for signings, exchanges with the public and introductory workshops (stenciling, collage, pointillism…). Bonus: slackline demos, a space for refreshments and refreshments… In short, on October 5 and 6, it’s going to be a street art party at the factory!
