CID faces backlash for using graffiti art without permission after ACP Pradyuman’s death. A Mumbai-based artist accused the makers of copyright infringement from YouTube.

CID lands in a new controversy.
Over the past few days, the Internet hasn’t been too happy with the makers of CID for killing ACP Pradyuman on the show. While the Internet hasn’t forgiven them yet, the show is back to making headlines for all the wrong reasons. A popular graffiti artist has accused the makers of CID of lifting clips of his graffiti, along with other artists’ work, from YouTube videos without proper attribution. Soon after posting the video, he deleted it from his Instagram handle.
As per report by HT, Mumbai-based graffiti artist Mooz Graffiti shared a clip on Instagram, alleging that CID not only used his artwork without permission but also lifted it directly from YouTube videos—amounting to copyright infringement. His video started with a scene from CID, after which, he addressed the audience directly by talking to the camera.

He said, in Hindi, “Initially, I was excited because we have all watched CID since childhood and getting your artwork featured in it is a good thing. But it’s not just me, Zake, Elmart and a lot of other people’s artwork has been featured here. But the funny part is that instead of going out on the street and shooting the artwork or hiring a person to show the vandalism, you chose to take it from a YouTube video. I found that funny.”
Mooz captioned the clip, “Sala ye Barbosa ne credit le liya! (Barboasa took all the credit)Woke up to this! CID showing our artworks in their recent episode ‘the aftermath’ where the graffiti seems to be taken from YouTube videos! That’s quite funny!!” Just when the clip started gaining traction, it was removed from his Instagram handle.
