NAUGATUCK, CT — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect accused of carving antisemitic graffiti into a sidewalk in Naugatuck earlier this month.

In a Facebook post Monday, police said the suspected vandalism occurred June 10 around 5 p.m. on Rubber Avenue.

According to police, the suspect carved an antisemitic message into two sections of freshly poured concrete before it had a chance to dry.

“As a result, the sidewalk will need to be redone at an estimated cost of $2,500,” police said on Facebook.

Police also posted a video of the suspect to Facebook and asked anyone with information to contact the department at 203-729-5222, or to submit an anonymous tip at 203-720-1010.
