Beanie Sigel Reveals He Honed Culinary Skills In Prison

Beanie Sigel recently ventured into the food and beverage world with a new food truck – and beyond being the owner, he can also chef up every item on the menu himself thanks to the culinary skills he picked up while behind bars.

Chatting with Philadelphia-based radio host Mina Say What about the new venture recently, Beans revealed: “When I went away, one of my stints, I ain’t sit on my hands. I had to do my bid and I took up culinary.”

He continued: “I just wanted the certifications and it helped me eat better. I ain’t cook for the prisoners. I cooked for the guards. They eat different!”

Beanie Sigel’s truck, titled ‘Grab & Roll, Wings & Bowls’ can be found in The Broad Street Bully’s hometown of Philadelphia at 2400 Passyunk Ave., available Wednesday through Saturday from 4 to 10pm. It offers aptly-named items that play off of his lyrics and affiliations, with a menu that includes local staples like cheesesteaks, chicken wings and fried seafood as well as both breakfast and dessert.

In other news, Beanie revealed last year that he’s forgiven the man who shot and nearly killed him a decade ago.

In 2014, the Philadelphia rapper was shot twice in the back and as a result was left in a coma.

Reflecting on the shooting during an April interview on Sway In the Morning, Beanie was asked if he could forgive his shooter.

He replied: “You have to. When you understand, you have to. How can you not forgive if you want forgiveness? ‘Cause there’s gonna be a time where everybody gon’ need forgiveness.

“When you cross all the way over and you ain’t here no more, you gon’ need forgiveness from [God] or can’t nobody gon’ forgive you.”

When asked if forgiving his shooter brings him a sense of freedom and peace, Beans answered: “I’m not gonna say that feeling goes away, but it just makes you more conscious of certain decisions.
