Book signing features graffiti artist Al Díaz at Brooklyn Made City Point

DOWNTOWN — LEGENDARY GRAFFITI ARTIST Al Díaz, co-creator of the SAMO© tag alongside Jean-Michel Basquiat, will be signing copies of two seminal books on street art on Thursday, May 29 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Brooklyn Made’s City Point location in Downtown Brooklyn.

The books are: “SAMO Since 1978 – A reflection on the origins and evolution of the SAMO© tag and movement,” and “A History of New York City Graffiti – A vivid chronicle of NYC’s graffiti legacy and its cultural significance.” This event closes out Urban Hieroglyphs: Brooklyn Connection, an exhibition curated by Silver Tuna Studios and Collect with Lulu, celebrating the voices and visuals of New York’s graffiti scene past and present.

“This is more than a signing—it’s a chance to celebrate graffiti’s impact on the art world and the borough that birthed it,” Gabrielle Napolitano, Director of Partnerships & Communications at Brooklyn Made, said in a statement. City Point is located at 445 Albee Sq. West, Downtown Brooklyn.
