MISSOULA — The well-known steer statue at the Clearwater Junction Stop N Go gas station and convenience store has been vandalized, according to a social media post from the company.

Apparently, someone used spray paint to write the word “Resist!” on the side of the “Clearwater Cow,” as it’s known.

“We are deeply saddened and angered by the recent vandalism of The Cow,” the store’s owners wrote in an Instagram post on Sunday. “This landmark means so much to us all, and it’s hard to believe that anyone would want to damage it.”
