A social media rumor recently alleged that disgraced hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was found unresponsive in his prison cell. The claim originated from a YouTube video uploaded on January 2, 2025, by Jamil Peterson on his channel, “Jamil Peterson Mr. I Am Comedy…”
The video, titled “Breaking News’ Diddy Found Unconscious With Sock Around His Neck In Jail Cell’ & Rushed To Hospital,” gained significant traction, amassing 175,638 views at the time of writing.
However, the claims made in the video are false. At no point in the two-hour video did Peterson provide any evidence or credible sources to substantiate his allegations. Additionally, no major news outlets have reported on the incident, casting further doubt on its authenticity, especially given the high-profile nature of Diddy’s ongoing federal case.
Jamil Peterson’s video about Diddy allegedly being found unconscious in jail appears to be fabricated and intended for sensationalism. The video lacked supporting proof and instead included clips of former Bad Boy Records bodyguard Gene Deal, who has spoken publicly about his experiences with Diddy since the mogul’s September 2024 arrest.
Peterson’s commentary on the rumor, delivered through tears and a shaky voice, was difficult to interpret. The video’s thumbnail featured a collage including an “Emergency” signboard outside a hospital alongside images unrelated to Diddy.
Two of the images in the collage depicted an unidentified man. One showed the man on a stretcher being moved through a hospital corridor by medical staff, while another depicted him in a hospital bed on life support, surrounded by a woman and a child.
These images could not be traced to any verifiable source and appear to be computer-generated.
