Bristol has been recognised as one of the world’s top ten cities renowned for its vibrant street art scene.
Following a recent 300% surge in Google searches for ‘Bristol street art’ in anticipation of World Art Day (April 15), Bristol has been ranked among the world’s top 10 cities for street art by a new study by Slingo.
Slingo used a series of listicles to create a seeding list of cities famous for street art and graffiti, and assigned each city an overall score based on the number of street artworks, Instagram and TikTok posts about the city’s graffiti and street art and global Google searches for each city’s graffiti, graffiti tour, street art and street art tour between February 2024 and January 2025.
Bristol ranked seventh globally with an overall score of 7.87.
The city has 254 street artworks and received over 223,000 combined posts on TikTok and Instagram, highlighting the city as a hub for vibrant street art and graffiti culture.
Bristol also received over 34,000 global Google searches, with Banksy’s six public artworks in the city sparking around 29,000 searches each year, more than major global cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco.
London was crowned the best city for street art with an overall score of 9.5, followed by Paris (8.93) and Melbourne (8.8).
