The Hip-Hop world witnessed its two biggest names in Kendrick Lamar and Drake duke it out over the Summer. The beef saw each artist take shots at the other’s family, integrity, and everything in between. When the smoke cleared, people claimed Kendrick as the victor, but Drake might be starting round 2.
Job’s Not Finished
In August Drake released over 100 GB of unreleased music that took subliminal shots at various artists including A$AP Rocky and Kendrick. The tracks helped Drake gain some much needed momentum and it seems the Toronto rapper is gearing up to restart the beef.
In an Instagram post done in August on Drake’s burner account, plottttwistttttt, shows a picture from the 1987 movie ‘A Better Tomorrow’ followed by a clip from the Pistons’ Rasheed Wallace stating “yall put it on the front page, back page, middle of the page… we will win Game 2”. The ’04 Pistons would go onto win that game. Drizzy would however quickly delete the post.
Many Fans on X claimed that the “69 God” will lose again. One user commented “Season been over. Focus on being a decent father and starting a family you almost 45” and another stated “‘Loves gonna get you killed, but prides gonna be the death of you, and you, and me and you….’ MF just ain’t learned and can’t move on. L”.
DJ Akademiks on Drake vs Kendrick Lamar
DJ Akademiks is one of the Toronto MC’s most vocal supporters. In an interview with djvlad, DJ Akademiks compared Drake to LeBron and Kendrick Lamar to Kahwaii Leonard claiming Kendrick won one, but Drake is the ultimate GOAT.

He also went on to state in a live stream,”Game 2, we will win. That’s a fact. If you think Drake finna abandon and forsake all them fans, you got to realize, this for the fans right here. You think he gon’ let some p***y a** n***as have something over him, his legacy, and his fans? No!”
Kendrick Lamar also called out Akademiks on the track 6:16 in LA stating he is hiding something and lying to the public to help protect Drake’s reputation.
Will the Drake and Kendrick Beef Ever End?
The Compton MC won the beef after his hit song “Not Like Us” which broke many records Drake used to hold from most single day streams for a rap song as well as fasted rap song to reach over 100 millions streams. K Dot called Drake a pedophile with lines such as “…probably struck a chord and it’s probably A Minor” and saying he was hiding pedophiles within his OVO team. Kendrick even doubled down on the claim with the cover art for “Not Like Us” covered with sexual predator icons on the OVO mansion.
Many artists linked to Kendrick such as ScHool Boy Q had shows cancelled in Canada and Michael Rubin, a billionaire who throws a lucrative White Party every year and is good friends with Drizzy, told djs at the party that they could not play “Not Like Us”. The aftermath of the beef besmirched Drizzy’s image and left many fans clowning the 6 God.
Drizzy is never one to back down though. The Hotline Bling rapper is up to his sneak dissing antics again and looks like he might be preparing for war. Whether Drizzy is restarting the beef for his own pride or for money, it will make for some great content for music fans. K Dot went radio silent after “Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers” and this beef saw him release classics. Music fans got to see two of the best go at each other and create timeless music. If Drake decides to restart the beef or if he is just warming up his twitter fingers, us as fans are in for a fun time.
