Several members of the hip-hop community posted their own messages in the comment section of Eric B’s post, remembering DJ Polo. Posdnuos of De La Soul asked God to bless DJ Polo and wrote, “Rest in Power.” Lord Finesse shared a trio of prayer hand emojis, while D-Nice posted several dove emojis.
DJ Polo was known for his work alongside Kool G Rap as the rapper-DJ duo Kool G Rap & DJ Polo. The two men released three albums together in the late 80s and early 90s before the rapper went solo. From then on, Polo would be a force on his own and released his solo album, Polo’s Playhouse, in 1998. He and Rap were also members of the iconic Juice Crew.
