The 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards returns for its 18th year to celebrate one of the most exciting years in hip-hop history!
The annual ceremony was taped on Oct. 8 at Drai’s Nightclub in Las Vegas, Nevada, hosted by New York rapper and philanthropist Fat Joe. The ceremony airs on BET and VH1 on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Who is nominated at the BET Hip Hop Awards?
Megan Thee Stallion‘s triumphant year in support of her first independent album, MEGAN, is giving her the nomination lead with 12. Following right behind with 11 noms is Kendrick Lamar, three of which are for his viral Drake diss track, “Not Like Us.”
Drake himself has eight nominations on the board, one of them being for “First Person Shooter” featuring J. Cole, the song that started the summer-long beef between him and Lamar.
Newcomers are also dominating the nominee list, such as New York party rap group 41, Florida’s Bossman Dlow, and Sexyy Red.

Who is performing at the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards?
Hip-hop veterans 2 Chainz, E-40, and Juicy J will be taking the stage and giving the audience a taste of different regional styles.
CMG labelmates Big Boogie and GloRilla will also perform together, while Florida legend Trina will hit the stage with former City Girls member Yung Miami and California newcomer 310babii.
Also set to perform is Soulja Boy and Roscoe Dash, as well as Florida rising star Bossman Dlow.
Who is hosting the BET Hip Hop Awards?
Fat Joe returns to host the show for the third time. The “Lean Back” rapper recently reflected on his Ozempic-assisted weight loss journey after dropping over 200 pounds. He joked he can’t drop the “Fat” from his stage name anytime soon because “my wife would kill me. She likes me being a big boy.”

Who is being honored at the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards?
Texas multi-hyphenate Travis Scott will be honored with the I Am Hip Hop Award, succeeding last year’s recipient Marley Marl. Teyana Taylor and Tyla will be presenting the award.
Scott is being recognized for his impact on hip-hop culture and changing “the course of hip-hop with a procession of groundbreaking albums and conversation-starting moves.”
The “FE!N” rapper is also up for a number of awards, including best live performer. By popular demand, Scott performed a final Utopia tour show at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
