MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – For Us By Us Network (FUBU) is bringing its inaugural Hip Hop Awards & Festival Weekend to Memphis.
The awards weekend is set for August 14-17, featuring “hundreds of celebrity guests.” The awards will honor artists’ contributions to media, music, fashion, business and social justice.
“We founded (FUBU) For Us By Us Network with a vision to create relevant content in hip hop culture,” FUBU co-founder J. Alexander Martin said. “We look forward to spearheading a signature experience in Memphis that inspires the spirit of novelty, ingenuity, and community behind our brand.
A full announcement is set for 3 p.m. Wednesday at Memphis City Hall. Action News 5 will stream that announcement live.
“One of Memphis’ greatest assets is our creative culture,” Mayor Paul Young said. “We are proud to serve as host city to the inaugural (FUBU) For Us By Us Awards Weekend and welcome its positive impact with local musicians, artists, and businesses.
