Kochi: Travelling graffiti artist from German Peter Klar painted graffiti on the walls of Kochi Metro Rail Ltd’s (KMRL) open-air theatre at Jos Junction.
Klar is popular for defying artistic conventions with his visionary wall art which are considered as a blend of realism and abstract elements.
He created the graffiti in the colour theme of Kochi Metro, in six days, using paints brought from Germany and Mumbai.“I have done many works in other Indian cities like Mumbai. India is so open to artistic creations on open walls, unlike in countries like Germany,” he said, adding that he is visiting Kerala for the first time.
Klar also expressed interest in creating graffiti on the walls of Kochi Water Metro terminals. The work was done as part of ‘Colour Kochi’ campaign of Kochi Design Week.
