Tonawanda, N.Y. (WBEN) – Vandals sprayed graffiti throughout Kenney Park in the Town of Tonawanda over the weekend. Crews in Tonawanda cleaned up all the graffiti early Monday morning.

Tonawanda Supervisor Joe Emminger says he was notified there was vandalism at the Veterans Memorial and along the playground at Kenney Park Sunday morning.

“I’m very disappointed and very concerned about people who would desecrate these facilities that we have dedicated to our veterans and our brand new, inclusive playground, as well as our beautiful rails to trail,” said Emminger with WBEN on Monday.

Emminger would not get into specifics, but says some of the graffiti had racial undertones.

Town of Tonawanda Police are investigating and searching for suspects.
