Elisabeth Ovesen recently shared her experience with Sean “Diddy” Combs in an interview with Sky News, reflecting on her time as a prominent hip-hop video star.

In an article published on December 15, 2024, Ovesen—who was previously known as Karrine Steffans—discussed how the nature of Diddy’s relationship with his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura was widely known within the music and entertainment circles.

Ovesen told the outlet: “I knew what kind of person he was to other people. Everything that’s coming out now about Sean wasn’t a secret… him and Cassie, that was an open secret in LA, in the industry. Everyone knew.”

Explaining why celebrities were hesitant to speak out against Diddy, she added: “The issue with something like that is that if someone says, ‘yeah, I was there, I’ve seen it. I know for sure’. Then the question becomes, well, what were you doing there?”

In 2005, Elisabeth Ovesen published a memoir about her life in the entertainment industry titled Confessions of a Video Vixen.

Reflecting on her first interaction with Diddy, Ovesen recalled meeting him at a club, where their cars happened to leave at the same time. The Satisfy You rapper was familiar with the people Ovesen was with.

Later that evening, Ovesen shared that she was “kind of ordered” to Diddy’s house, though she emphasized that the rapper treated her “with respect.”

Ovesen elaborated: “He was very sweet and very docile with me and very respectful. The next morning we had brunch at his house… again, [he was] pleasant, warm.”

She revealed that their encounter occurred in 2001, shortly after Diddy’s breakup with Jennifer Lopez.

Ovesen also speculated that Diddy’s gentle demeanor around her may have been influenced by his knowledge that she kept a diary. While he was kind to her, she admitted to witnessing Diddy “flare up” with other people.
