“His wealth won’t help him in here” — Former reality star Timothy Smith says Diddy will receive no “special treatment” in jail

In a recent interview, former reality star Timothy Smith made waves with his remarks about hip-hop mogul Sean Diddy Combs’ incarceration.

On October 7, 2024, in an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail Australia, Timothy Smith offered insights into life in prison and reflected on what Combs might expect during his time behind bars.

During the interview, the former reality star suggested that life behind bars is challenging and emphasized that Combs will receive no special treatment. According to Smith, Combs’s wealth will not be of any help in this situation.

“His wealth won’t help him in here, nothing at all,” Smith said.

Timothy Smith could give insights into prison life because in 2006 was arrested and incarcerated for one year for drug trafficking. He flew across the Canada-US border with marijuana, as per the publication. He also starred in Married at First Sight in 2024.

The statement by Smith is followed by Diddy’s arrest on September 16, 2024, at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Manhattan under s*x trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, transportation, and engaging in pr*stitution charges.

On Monday, Timothy Smith, in an interview with Daily Mail Australia, commented on the public interest surrounding Diddy’s case, asserting that Combs’ wealth and influence will not spare him from the realities of prison life. Smith suggested that in federal jails, everything is limited, and the people will not get privileges just because they are rich.

“His money and wealth won’t get him any benefits. In the federal system, it’s so limited, you don’t get extra privileges because you’re rich,” Smith said.

Furthermore, Smith noted that federal prisons provide inmates with basic amenities, such as tracksuits, but emphasized that personal freedoms are highly restricted. He highlighted that even small privileges are closely monitored within the prison environment.

“You’re allowed a few basics like a tracksuit and sneakers from the commissary, but that’s about it. They do raids, and if you try to stockpile, they take everything,” Smith added.

Smith further explained that outsiders might assume high-profile inmates receive amenities such as televisions or radios. However, he suggested that, in Diddy’s case, even access to radio is restricted in his place of incarceration.

“He’s in the management unit, so no, he doesn’t have access to other inmates. People think there are TVs and radios, but where he’s at, there’s nothing, not even a radio. You get a Bible and one book per week. That’s all,” he said.

Moreover, Smith provided insight into how limited Combs’ connection to the outside world may be, explaining that inmates are typically allowed only 300 minutes of phone access per month. If they exhaust these minutes before the month’s end, they must wait until the next month to reconnect with others.

“You only get 300 minutes a month on the phone… Sometimes you run out of minutes within the first week, and then you’re just left talking to yourself,” Smith added.

Since Diddy’s arrest in mid-September, a lengthy 14-page indictment has been unveiled against the rapper, outlining a three-count federal indictment that alleges his involvement in drug-fueled o*gies, force and coercion, pr*stitution, and a cover-up.

Additionally, the indictment claims Combs’ alleged participation in so-called “Freak Off” parties, which allegedly featured multi-day s*x orgies involving heavy drug use, large quantities of alcohol, and copious amounts of baby oil and lubricants, dating back to 2008.

Most recently, Diddy’s case gained significant attention when an accuser’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, stated in a press conference that more than 120 lawsuits would be filed against the rapper. The attorney also proposed its client case, alleging that Combs laced his client’s drink while she was pregnant.

Amid all legal trouble, Combs has denied all allegations against him, and his attorney has suggested that his client is innocent and will prove his innocence in court. The court hearing regarding the case will held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
