With all 16 b-girls and 16 b-boys qualified, including four Team USA members, the stage is set for the history-making debut of breaking at the Olympic Games. A few years after a successful introduction at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, the street dance discipline was added to the roster for Paris 2024.
Starting from the Bronx as one of the original elements of hip hop and growing into a worldwide phenomenon, breaking is a high-energy and competitive dance that is sure to have the crowd on their feet.
The b-girl and b-boy events will take place on August 9 and August 10, respectively, at Paris’ largest public square, the Place de La Concorde, which has been specially outfitted for urban sports at the Olympics.
The Olympics website lists the official media rights holders who will be broadcasting the Games in the specified regions. For those in the United States, the broadcaster is NBC, and you can catch breaking live on E! (TV) or Peacock (digital).
