Reports of Sean “Diddy” Combs and Tekashi 6ix9ine having crossed paths while housed at Brooklyn’s notorious Metropolitan Detention Center have been refuted, as the two Hip-Hop stars are apparently in two entirely different parts of the jail.
Lance Lazzaro, attorney for controversial rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, has denied rumors circulating that his client and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs have been housed near each other or interacted while incarcerated at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC).
Speaking with TMZ Hip Hop, Lazzaro confirmed that the two rap stars are not in the same section of the facility and have had no contact during their respective stays.
This denial comes after rumors emerged suggesting that Diddy and 6ix9ine were in close proximity while serving time at MDC, sparking speculation of possible interactions.
6ix9ine’s legal troubles continue following his recent court appearance on Tuesday, where he pled guilty to several violations of his supervised release. These included traveling to Las Vegas and Central Florida without permission, failing to take and pass drug tests, and lying to his parole officer. As a result, 6ix9ine has been sentenced to an additional 30 days in federal prison.
Following his prison term, the rapper will serve additional time under home confinement, which will be broken down into phases: one month of strict home incarceration, a second month with looser home detention, and a final month under curfew restrictions.
While rumors of Diddy and 6ix9ine’s proximity have gained attention, Lazzaro’s statement clears up any confusion, confirming that there has been no interaction between the two at MDC. Further details on 6ix9ine’s legal situation will be provided as they become available.
As part of his sentencing, 6ix9ine will spend 30 more days in prison, followed by one month of home incarceration, another month of modified home detention, and then a month in which he will have a curfew.
As for Combs, his prospects of being released prior to his trial on federal racketeering and sex trafficking charges appear bleak. The mogul has repeatedly been denied bail since being arrested at a New York hotel in September, with prosecutors deeming him a flight risk and a threat to potential witnesses in the case.
