Long Dark Tunnel

An art exhibition titled Long Dark Tunnel, created by graffiti writer 10Foot in collaboration with Tox and Fume, has opened just off Piccadilly Circus. The show follows a special edition of The Big Issue guest-edited by 10Foot, which featured an interview between Banksy and Tox—often described as the UK’s “most imprisoned” graffiti artist.

FAD managed via Moniker Projects to get a Q&A about the show with 10Foot.

Why are you doing an exhibition?
exhibition happens every day in the museum without walls. i’m not being facetious, i don’t know where it starts and ends. go and ride every train track and every motorway in the UK and please tell me if i’m doing an exhibition.

Why now?
lust for life can put you adjacent to your own death but now i have lust for another’s nascent life.

What can people expect to see?
our weird world, simmered down and skewed.

Why are you doing this all together, did no one want a solo show?
graffiti is individual as default – you write your moniker again and again. it’s better when it’s friends, community, politik. it’s unbeatable when it’s philosophy. it’s far more than just us three.

Who was Robbo?
the godfather of UK graffiti, a dad, a best friend, a fisherman, a football fan, someone who taught me a lot.

Is the Long Dark Tunnel going anywhere?
yes. it’ll emerge but it’ll go underground once again.

Is Graffiti your vocation?
vocation isnt in my vocabulary, it
suggests a self assessment that i don’t engage with. drive down the road and catch the train, you can answer on my behalf.
