In a snippet of a prison phone call between the two men, Max B tells Thugger: “Man, I’m in here grinding this shit out… Hell yeah, we ’bout to hit the home stretch, baby.”
He then asks: “Wassup? We gon’ make some history?” seemingly referring to a collaboration.
It is not known from when the phone call dates, but Max B posted it on his Instagram Stories on Monday (January 27) and Thug does not appear to be on a jail phone himself, meaning it was recorded after Halloween last year when the YSL rapper was freed in his YSL RICO case.
Last year, Max phoned into Joe Budden‘s podcast to detail what he has planned for when he is released from prison less than a year from now.

“Listen, I’m not going to put myself in a box,” he said. “I can’t wait to get in the studio. There’s a lot of artists out there, too many to name. I’m looking forward to working with the big names, the head honchos.
“I’m not going to put myself in a box. I’m open for all that but they gotta be A-list. I’m fucking with A-list. If this shit ain’t A-list, I can’t fuck with it.”
The 46-year-old is in prison after it was alleged he plotted to rob two men with his stepbrother, Kelvin Leerdam, and ex-girlfriend, Gina Conway, at a Holiday Inn in New Jersey in September 2006. The botched robbery resulted in one of the men being shot dead.
In 2016, the convictions were vacated and Max pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter instead, leading to his 75-year sentence being dramatically reduced to a 20 stretch. A further reduction followed soon after, cutting his jail time to 12 years.

During his lengthy time behind bars, Max has been regularly visited by close friend and collaborator, French Montana, who also used the trips to jail to lay his charm on the female prison guards.
