N.W.A legend DJ Yella has been filmed exorcising a “demon” from his body during a church service that was streamed online.
The veteran DJ and producer posted a clip of the apparent spiritual moment on Instagram on Monday (December 2), writing: “You’re Now About To Witness Something Real: And The Power Of GOD!!!” — a play, of course, of the opening lines from N.W.A’s classic hit “Straight Outta Compton.”

In the video, Yella can be seen standing on stage next to a pastor, who thanks the gangsta rap pioneer for finding God when things suddenly take a turn for the wild.
Yella appears to enter some kind of trance as the pastor begins praying, but the N.W.A co-founder stiffens up and begins loudly grunting and straining for several seconds.
The pastor orders him to “release him, all the way out,” after which Yella returns to his normal state.
Yella’s apparent experience with a demon got a mixed response from fans on social media.
“Lol are we serious right now?” one bemused viewer commented, while another wrote: “Man stop the shenanigans [crying face emoji].”

Others were more supportive, with one saying: “That’s beautiful Yella!! I know you must have felt a change after that!”
DJ Yella revealed back in 2021 that he had found God after working in the adult film industry.
In an interview with HipHopDX, he said: “I’d never look to God. I never thought about God. I didn’t know nothing about it, and He still came and got me when I was homeless in my darkest times at the bottom of my life ever and pulled me out.
“God came and got me. He still wanted me, even though I was at the bottom. The world and the devil didn’t even want me no more. When the devil’s done with you, you’re done.”

“Ever since I got saved, I never looked back. I’m in church twice a week, everything. I’m a deacon now in the church, everything. I didn’t make the book for money. I made it to show how good God was,” he added, referring to his memoir Straight Outta Compton: My Untold Story.
“He even got me — this horrible, terrible sinner. He even got me. If He can get me, He can get anybody. I mean, I didn’t make it for the money. I never was a money person. Never was.”
