CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Artists in Charlotte now have a new place to paint graffiti legally.
About 75 people spent Saturday afternoon painting at the new graffiti park in NoDa.
TAOH Outdoor Gallery has 20 billboards covered with colorful art packed into a park on North Brevard Street.
Artists can paint for free, and, of course, graffiti is celebrated. It’s the first of its kind, a spray-paint park, and it was funded by a $40,000 opportunity grant from the City of Charlotte.
Organizers plan to stay at the location on Brevard Street until February when they hope to find a sponsor or city support to move to a permanent spot.
