No More Extensions For Downtown Miami Graffiti-Covered 19-Story Building

Miami’s Code Enforcement Board voted to deny an extension for a 19-story building in downtown Miami to clean up graffiti, according to NBC 6.

The building is slated for demolition, to make way for a supertall tower called One Bayfront Plaza.

Interior demolition on the old building began in May 2023.

In early December 2023, the building was painted over in graffiti.

A total demolition permit for the tower was issued in June 2024.

Commissioner Joe Carollo claimed the owners aren’t moving fast enough.

“This is a joke. How could you get away with something like this in a major city like Miami?” Carollo asked.

In a press conference, Carollo said he wanted the building painted over before New Years Eve celebrations
