The 9AMBanger is an event series with multiple DJ sets and a surprise musical guest that begins bright and early at 9 o’clock in the morning!
The 9AMBanger happens multiple times a year, with this most recent theme being Rise & Rosé, where attendees all wore pink and white.
The location on the rooftop of Pier 17 was absolutely beautiful. The views of the city were a treat and the chance to listen to music and party while seeing the Empire State Building, Brooklyn Bridge, and Statue of Liberty was an amazing and unique experience. The weather on the day of the event worked out to be perfect.
As soon as the event started at 9 AM, DJ Einfari took the stage. The tone was set and people began to dance and sing even though the day had just begun. Other DJs included Stevie G, Rille, ZEEMUFFIN, and Hot 97’s E-STYLEZ. Each DJ brought their unique sound and taste to the table which made the event fun as attendees were always excited to see what was next.
The 9AMBanger is known for its tradition of bringing out a musical artist as a special guest to their events. In the past, they have had acts such as Sean Paul, French Montana, Mya, and Bobby Shmurda. This time, the special guest was rapper and producer Cash Cobain.
Cash Cobain was a great addition to the show, as he is a New York native. Cash Cobain gained a great deal of popularity, especially since his song “Fisherrr” which was a massive hit, especially here in the city. His collaborations with other famous hip-hop artists and his signature production have allowed him to create many more popular songs such as attitude “ATTITUDE” for Don Tolliver’s most recent album, and “Body” with another New York star, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.
He performed all these songs and more and got the crowd jumping and singing all of his lines. He brought with him another rapper, Payroll, who performed as well.
After Cash Cobain’s surprise performance, Dana Lu closed out the show.
Over the course of the event, a wide variety of music was played, making it a great experience for everyone in attendance. Hip-hop, Latin, and Caribbean music were just some of the types of songs played. Food and drinks were served at the event, as well as fun merch that matched the event’s theme. Pink towels were given out that read “YES, THE PARTY IS AT 9AM,” the event’s slogan.
Overall, the 9AMBanger is a unique and special series of events where you truly feel the spirit of New York. It’s exciting to think about what their future events will entail.
