PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – A man considered one of Portland’s most prolific graffiti vandals has been indicted again after a long investigation, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
Jerry Alexander Mijangos, 27, is facing multiple counts of first-degree and second-degree criminal mischief for tagging several properties around the city.
The investigation first began when Mijangos was arrested for tagging in Nov. 2021. After his arrest, Central Precinct’s Neighborhood Response Team forwarded 15 cases to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
On April 8, 2022, police say Mijangos was caught applying graffiti again and arrested. Multnomah County booking policy at the time did not allow him to be booked, so Mijangos was cited and released to appear in court by the arresting officers.

Central NRT then referred five more cases in Oct. 2022 to the district attorney’s office. Mijangos pleaded guilty in April 2023 as part of a plea agreement and sentenced to probation.
Police say Mijangos was investigated again in May and June 2023 due to continued criminal tagging. Nine new cases were presented to the district attorney’s office.
Mijangos was arrested for a probation violation on Jan. 1 of this year and was indicted on Jan. 30 on additional cases. Police say he is being held in custody due to his probation status.
“Central NRT is aware of hundreds of criminal tags committed by Mijangos over the last two and a half years and believes he is one of the most prolific graffiti vandals in the City of Portland,” police said in a released.
The investigation is ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information on vandals to email tips to investigators at crimetips@police.portlandoregon.gov attention: Central NRT.
