India’s premier hip-hop festival, Gully Fest, is making a triumphant return for its second edition, set to take place on October 26-27, 2024 at the Nesco Center in Mumbai. The highly anticipated event will feature headlining performances by international rap legend Pusha T and Indian hip-hop pioneer DIVINE, promising an unforgettable celebration of hip-hop’s rise from the streets to mainstream culture.
Launched in 2018 by DIVINE (Vivian Fernandes) and his Gully Gang music label, Gully Fest became an instant sensation, quickly establishing itself as a key platform for India’s burgeoning hip-hop scene. This year’s festival aims to spotlight the genre’s cultural triumphs, paying homage to its roots with the tagline “Hip-Hop Mere Gully Mein” (meaning “hip-hop in my hood”). It will highlight how hip-hop has evolved from underground street performances to a dominant force in India’s music and pop culture landscape.
The theme for this year revolves around the influence of varsity and university culture, emphasizing how these environments have shaped both the style and voice of generations of hip-hop artists and fans. DIVINE, reflecting on the success of Indian hip-hop, commented, “It really was all a dream, to see how far we’ve come as a movement, to see so many take up the mic & a pen, to see how our music has travelled so far and wide in India & beyond. Gully Fest is a celebration of that.”
In addition to Pusha T and DIVINE, Gully Fest 2024 will feature performances by a lineup of India’s most influential and emerging hip-hop artists, including:
Gully Gang All Stars
Prabh Deep
Lisa Mishra
Sambata
Yashraj
Gravity
Bombay Bassment
Reble
DJ Proof
DJ Kan-i

Beyond the performances, festival-goers can look forward to immersive experiences, with the venue featuring interactive installations, a graffiti wall, skate ramp, and a unique yearbook photo booth, among other attractions. These activities aim to further integrate hip-hop culture into the fabric of the festival, creating an engaging experience for all attendees.
