Ralo: All about the rap star and why was he in prison

Ralo, an acclaimed hip hop artist from Atlanta, US was released from prison yesterday after he completed his 5-year sentence after his arrest in April 2018. As per reports, police found marijuana worth a significant $1 million on the rapper’s plane that was stationed in Dekalb-Peachtree Airport in Atlanta.

In May 2018, after the discovery of the drug on his plane, Ralo pleaded not guilty to charges of drug conspiracy. Additionally, in February 2019, Ralo’s team who were fighting the case for him stated that he did not agree to a 5-year plea deal as well. In June 2022, Ralo was also sentenced to 8 years in prison.

Reportedly, the judge gave Ralo the verdict of 4 years of time served in prison and also credited the rapper with 1 and half years for good behaviour.

Who is Ralo?

Terrell Davis, known by his moniker Ralo, was born on February 12, 1995 in the city of Atlanta in the US. He has a sister and a brother and all of them were raised by a single mother. Ralo grew up in a rough neighbourhood and has a large history with prison.

As per reports he went to jail for more than 30 times and in this process lost a lot of friends and relatives as well. He was involved in the world of drugs and music gave him a way out of that life.

Ralo started his time in the music industry with his first single called “Can’t Lie,” which he recorded in 2015. The music video went viral on YouTube with more than 5 million views. Later during the same year, he also released his first mixtape “Famerican Gangster,” which had hit titles recorded with stalwarts in hip hop like Gucci Mane, Young Thug and 21 Savage. In 2016, Ralo released his acclaimed album “The Diary of Streets II,” a record that has been reportedly described as having rich lyrics and tunes. Ralo stated that he was very happy with the song called “My Diary” as it talked about his time when he lost a dear friend and an important woman in his life.In 2018, the Atlanta rapper went on to release more mixtapes such as “Come Home,” “Pray for Me,” and “Stay Down,” which are revered records for the fans.

After Ralo’s release from prison, videos on social media emerged showing the musician being greeted by his family members and friends outside the prison. In one of the videos, the rapper was seen changing into new designer shoes from his prison ones.
