WASHINGTON — Canadian rapper Tory Lanez has been hospitalized after he was stabbed by another inmate at a California prison, according to multiple media reports.

Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, was taken to the hospital Monday after a fellow inmate stabbed him with a self-made shank in the prison yard, according to the L.A. Times.

TMZ, which first reported the news, said Lanez was rushed by ambulance from the California Correctional Institute in Tehachapi to a nearby hospital in Bakersfield. The outlet reported that Lanez’s stabbing injury is considered non-life-threatening.

The New York Post cited sources who said Lanez had been stabbed multiple times in the face.

Lanez is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for shooting hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion in the feet back in July 2020.

In December 2022, Lanez was convicted of three felonies: assault with a semiautomatic firearm; having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

Earlier this year, Megan was granted a restraining order from Lanez until early 2030.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Richard Bloom granted Megan’s request for a protective order after she alleged that Lanez is harassing her from prison through surrogates as he serves his sentence.

Megan obtained the temporary order in November after alleging Lanez is using third parties to continue to harass her online. The petition says call logs show that Lanez is coordinating attacks on Megan’s credibility, including making false claims that the gun and bullet fragments in the case are missing.
