Savannah Dance school wins championship at nationals in Orlando

Dance Savannah won big at the Orlando Universal Dance Association competition this weekend.This comes nearly a year after they were sent looking for a new studio space after the Savannah Mall, where their former studio was located, had been sold.”This year, ‘Little Misbeehavin” and ‘Misbeehavin” actually won UDA. Little Misbeehavin has a time theme where they do poms, jazz and hip-hop. Misbeehavin had a baseball theme, so they have jazz and hip hop,” Tysheena Jordan-Gordon said.The Savannah dance studio Jordan-Gordon owns is no stranger to bringing home a trophy. “Throughout the years, we’ve been hip hop and variety. We’ve been known for our creativity and our routines,” Jordan-Gordon said.After nearly their first year in their new studio on Abercorn, Gordon emphasizes the dancers feel achieved. “They feel amazing! Especially for the variety of teams! Those are teams where they have to focus. So, for them to take home that win at UDA. On the same floor as their idols at LSU, Ohio State, Minnesota won,” Jordon-Gordon said. “They are over the moon!”Dance Savannah’s following competition will be on February 3 at the Savannah Civic Center.To learn more about classes and registration, click here.
