Sheff G is celebrating his release from jail after posting an enormous $1.5 million bail.
The New York drill rapper, who had spent 14 months behind bars following his arrest on multiple gang conspiracy charges, announced his release on social media over the weekend.

He wrote on Instagram: “10 MILL BOND, 1.5 MILL CASH BAIL WAS THE TICKET!! BAIL PAID SAME DAY ARE YOU DUMB, SHEFF G BACK NEW YORK WE FUCKING LITTTTT THEY COUNTED ME OUT THEY THOUGHT I WAS DONE, PEACE AND LOVE TO YALL LOL ( WINNERSCIRCLE IM W THE STARS BABY. YOU CAN COME AND EAT W US YOU AINT GOTTA STARVEE BABYYYYYYY.”
According to New York City’s Department of Corrections, Sheff G (real name Michael Williams) paid his seven-figure bail last Friday (April 19).

The 25-year-old also shared videos of him being greeted by friend outside the jail, as well as of him making a quick return to the studio and working on a new song.
In a separate post, Sheff promised new music, writing: “LIKE MILWAUKEE BOY I GET BUCKS , STILL WOO. WALK WHEN I FEEL LITTY‼️ IM THE MAN W UP, WE THEM N-GGAS WINNING IN THE CITYY.

Sheff G, along with 32 others, was arrested in May 2023 and hit with charges ranging from murder to weapons, kidnapping, assault and conspiracy.
The acts of violence allegedly took place from March 2019 to the present day. Prosecutors believe the rapper used his music income to pay for hits and fueled gun violence across the city in exchange for money, lavish dinners, jewelry and more.

District Attorney Eric Gonzalez claimed: “Sheff G became a prominent member of this gang and became central to our investigation. Sheff G used a lot of the money that he earned to facilitate further gang activity. He encouraged gang members to participate in violent crimes.”
Sheff and his fellow defendants are accused of “committing shootings, possessing guns, and using stolen cars during shootings, to eliminate rivals that included members of Folk Nation Gangster Disciples and ICG Babiiez.”
They also claim that Sheff was the getaway driver in an April 2021 shooting that targeted a rival as a pair of bystanders were also struck in the crossfire.
Before his arrest on gang charges, Sheff G was already behind bars on a two-year bid on gun possession charges and was denied early release by a parole board in November.

He was brought to Brooklyn Supreme Court flanked by authorities to be taken up on the new conspiracy charges and was not freed after his initial sentence ended.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams also said the city would continue to go after alleged criminals regarding of their fame and wealth: “Doesn’t matter if they reach fame and fortune, they’re going to use their fame and fortune to enhance their ability to access dangerous guns. We’re not going to surrender our streets to violence.”
