ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Students with Spectrum School of Rockford got a chance to bust a move Friday afternoon, rehearsing and performing during the K-FACT Dance Studio Hip-Hop Showcase.
Students learned a dance routine with Fabbie Williams, founder of FAB Dance & Fitness Academy and the first Black woman to open a dance center in the Forest City.
“It was nice to be able to work with elementary school kids and children who are just passionate about dance, passionate about learning, it’s just been an amazing experience getting to know them all, I even learned all their names, because they really made an impact on me and giving me some inspiration when it comes to teaching,” Williams said.

K-FACT is a Rockford-based nonprofit that provides “holistic mentorship” and looks to give girls in the community more opportunities to break generational poverty, according to the organization’s website.
