In a backyard in the West Lakes District, many local artists have found a hub for creativity and expression, helping them to develop themselves and their brands.
What started as a space for employees at the Hittn’ Skins print shop to hang out and take a break from work grew into something more as they began to share it with friends, eventually creating what’s now known as The Nash.
The Nash is a mural space behind Hittn’ Skins where artists can come and participate in the revolving mural walls and get help marketing themselves and their art to the rest of the Orlando area.
Since its creation in 2021, The Nash has helped many artists find an outlet to paint murals legally, connecting local artists to businesses to find free walls where they are able to put their work. Artists can fill out a form on The Nash website and request to paint on the mural wall or seek out help finding connections to local businesses looking to commission artwork.
The Nash also acts as an event space hosting art-based gatherings occasionally. The next event at The Nash, the Pintura Project, is coming up on April 26. The Pintura Project is an arts festival where over 50 artists will be doing live painting along with DJs, rap performances and break dancing.

The event is all about unity, said Pintura Project founder Staz.
“Unifying and getting all different types of people together to have a great time, try to put graffiti and street art out more … Make street art and graffiti more accepted,” Staz said.
Growing up in Brooklyn, surrounded by street art, Staz said it was important for him to create something here in Orlando to draw in a community and celebrate in that culture together. That’s what led to the Pintura Project being an annual event from 2008 to 2011, before taking a 14 year pause until now.
“I’ve seen how Orlando’s changing. It’s getting more diverse. You see a lot of culture, a lot of art on the walls, and no one is really doing a graffiti, street art event. So, because I love it, I said, let me give it another try,” Staz said.
Tickets for the Pintura Project on April 26 can be found on Eventbrite.
